We found out two days ago that the Singletary had double booked events and we had to leave the venue around 5 pm. Well, the bikes weren't supposed to arrive from their run until 3:30 or 4 pm. So, I guess I am a little glad that it rained and the bike run was canceled. The issue that had my heart racing was that we had a DJ and a band set to play after the bike run and because everything got pushed up, they could not make it to the benefit. We were without music or entertainment!
I was clearly filled with anxiety, but my amazing wife gave me a piece of advice that I should have had in my tool belt from the start, "So what, its just music." How true. As we already know, eating a meal without music is a blessing compared to some fates. I would excitedly be deaf to the world if I could hold Zoë only one more time.
Well, we arrived at Singletary and the event's host and our friend, Tammy Jones, had some great news: We have a band and DJ again! Yea!! I would have eaten in silence, but it was so nice to enjoy The Randy and Dave Show. What a couple of fun characters. They play regularly at Singletary (I think the last Friday of the month.)
We made a lot of new friends and a couple of new contacts who want to help us with our foundation. Thank you Tammy, her family, and all of our new friends at Singletary Rod and Gun Club. Yesterday was a huge success. We raised 1500 dollars and that will all be used to help other families. I will always be in debt to the Jennifer Creed Fund for filling our oil tank in our darkest time. And it is my honor to pay it forward. Yesterday was a testament to everyone's generosity. Thank you never seems be enough, but I am so thankful!
